As we reflect on 2024 and welcome 2025 at Enhance, I’d like to wish our clients and all professional advisers a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year. In Chinese astrology, this is the year of the Snake, which symbolises transformation, renewal, and growth. How very apt that Enhance closed out 2024 with significant ownership changes, along with richly deserved recognition in the King’s New Year Honours for our Chairman, Lyndon Trott.   

In December, we were delighted to announce the buyout of the Financial Services Opportunities Investment Fund Limited (FSOIFL), our longstanding private equity partner, in a deal that saw staff ownership increase to c80% of the business - reinforcing our owner-managed culture and independence. As part of this deal, the capital structure of Enhance has been simplified to create one class of ordinary shares with equal dividend and voting rights, aligning all investors in our company.

The UAP Group, a Guernsey-based investment company with complementary interests in financial services businesses, acquired the balance of equity and will take a seat on our group board. UAP is also chaired by Lyndon Trott, Enhance’s longstanding Chairman and Guernsey’s incumbent Chief Minister, and is owner-managed by senior industry stalwarts Rob Shipman (Group CEO) and James Floyd (Commercial Director).

Hot on the heels of our ownership changes, the Enhance team was delighted to observe Lyndon being appointed an OBE by the King for his services to Guernsey and the financial services industry. As one of Guernsey’s longest-serving politicians, Lyndon is only the second Chief Minister to be honoured in this way whilst still in office, underscoring the exceptional nature of his public service and industry contribution over more than a quarter of a century.

Therefore 2024 really did end on a high at Enhance, rounding off another year of record growth and profitability for our business which is poised to continue in 2025. To ensure our growth is sustainable and uncompromised, we will be hiring into our relationship management, software development and data functions in the first half of the new year, whilst also investing heavily in relationship management and onboarding technology to complement our ever-evolving Mosaic platform. 

Mosaic is poised to have its most significant client-facing upgrade in Q2 since we launched the platform in 2020. Our Client Portal is being reconfigured and enhanced to provide more analytics, workflow tools and dashboarding, to create a true investment oversight hub for the professional advisers we serve. We will also be launching a Bookkeeping data service, proprietary 'target date' investment monitoring and implementation framework for pension clients and Enhance Peer Groups this year. Our team will be busy.

Our Consultancy solution is also being refreshed, with three new services being offered: Select, Navigate and Research. More to follow on this exciting development in the months ahead, which is Enhance's response to professional advisers wanting clear, comprehensive and cost-effective advice services to deploy with their clients. We can now offer anything from a fully implemented advisory portfolio through to ad-hoc research and expert witness engagements to investors of all shapes and sizes. No 'one size fits all' here.

With so much going on in a business that is owned by the people working in it, it is difficult not to be truly excited about 2025. Against a macro-economic backdrop of political instability and volatile markets, plus the ongoing rise of regulation and compliance in professional services, the need for independent investment monitoring and consultancy services has arguably never been greater. At Enhance, we are positioning our business to be the 'go to' partner for professional advisers seeking the best investment outcomes for their clients.
